News from Compassion in World Farming

November 8, 2013 Leave a comment Go to comments

Last night, Compassion campaigners lit up the White Cliffs of Dover with a projection calling for an end to live exports. Towering directly over the entrance to the Port of Dover, our message could not be ignored: this trade must stop.

As images from our recent investigations into the export of British sheep appeared on the cliffs, passing drivers tooted their support. Meanwhile, local residents hung out of their windows to watch, whilst others came out into the street to lend us their backing.

Our next step was to move our projection unit closer to the town centre. There, we were joined by the inspirational and dedicated local campaigners from KAALE and TALE, for a vigil marking the suffering of tens of thousands of sheep and calves shipped from Dover in the past year.

We know how much the animals facing export suffer. For them, we are speaking out loud and clear. Join us and send the campaign message we projected onto the White Cliffs of Dover to the new minister for farming, George Eustice.
