Loch Lomond goats being shot. We need your help

November 29, 2013 Leave a comment Go to comments

Scotland for Animals has been working for the past 3 weeks to implement a rescue plan to save the feral goats that live on the banks of Loch lomond from being shot on the orders of the RSPB. It’s claimed these animals have to die as they’re eating the local vegetation (I know, the mind boggles).

We’ve managed to bring our friends at Hillside Animal Sanctuary and our good mate Kevin Newell from Humane Wildlife Solutions on board to move and re-home them.

The RSPB and it’s associates in this slaughter have so far turned down SfA’s requests to call off the shooting and let us go in and take the animals.

Please email all of the following and ask them to do the right thing:

RSPB CEO Mike Clarke: Mike.Clarke@rspb.org.uk

SNH Chief Executive Ian jardine: ian.jardine@snh.gov.uk

Steve Williams, Forestry Commission: steve.williams@forestry.gsi.gov.uk

If they really do need to bring the population down in that area (and that’s a huge if) this will allow them to implement non-lethal methods after the threatened amount are removed.
