Save The Sage-Grouse From Extinction

February 11, 2014 Leave a comment Go to comments

The Greater Sage-Grouse is one of America’s most iconic birds. Despite being historically abundant, today this bird is extremely vulnerable. If its home continues to be destroyed it could become extinct. Thankfully, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service decided that the Greater Sage-Grouse warrants protection under the Endangered Species Act and they will consider the bird for listing in 2015.

But before that happens, we must act now. Leading up to 2015, we will need to continue to strengthen protections for the Greater Sage-Grouse. The Bureau of Land Management and the Forest Service have a responsibility to implement action to restore this bird. Let’s hold them to it!
