Activity tomorrow

This Saturday activists from groups around the country will take to the streets outside British Heart Foundation stores to demand and end to the British Heart Foundation’s funding of research projects involving animals.

The campaign is inspired by the recent Animal Aid expose of a Cambridge University project which found ewes being suffocated with plastic bags to deprive them of oxygen, their lambs’ legs cut open and tubes inserted into their legs. Both the mother and her young were killed a few days later after another prolonged period of suffocation.

This expose followed on from their 2011 Victims of Charity report which exposed the animal torture and flawed science behind experiments funded by some of the UK’s biggest and best known health charities.

There are many stalls and demonstrations taking place in London and the south east including Fulham, Clapham, Balham and Woodford – see the demonstration map on the website for the location and contact details for your nearest protest. If you are unable to attend a protest there are other ways to get involved on the website.
