Cages!

October 12, 2014 Leave a comment Go to comments
Cages perfectly symbolise factory farming.
They confine and restrict, they thwart many of an animal’s natural instincts, and they are a desolate reflection on our society. Despite the obvious failings of this outdated technology, in Europe, around 700 million farm animals are confined in cages every year.
Every generation must make its mind up which injustice and cruelty to animals it is going to stop. The time has come for this generation to stand up and End the Cage Age.
Like the characters in the film, we have had enough of repeatedly seeing animals confined, crammed together and treated purely as units of production.
We have had enough of working for years to bring in changes in the law, and then fighting to prevent animal welfare rules being ignored or avoided with the production of slightly bigger cages.
We have had enough of outdated cages still being used in modern European farming.
That is why, today, Compassion is launching an extremely ambitious new campaign to end the use of cages in ALLEU farming.
Join the campaign
Pigs, hens, rabbits, ducks, geese and quail are imprisoned in factory farm cages all over the EU.  End the Cage Age will work on eliminating all of these cages. We need your help to bring around these changes. They won’t happen overnight. But with your backing they WILL happen.
Please, take the time to watch our film and share it with as many people as possible. And if you believe that farm animals should no longer be kept in cages, join the campaign today.
