Chemical Industry

When it comes to chemicals used in everyday products—food containers, furniture, children’s toys—who do you trust: the chemical lobby or scientists and safety inspectors?
Unfortunately, you haven’t had a choice—until now.
The chemical lobby has fought off safety testing for years. Under current law, manufacturers can use tens of thousands of commercial chemicals with little oversight—like cancer-causing formaldehyde and endocrine-disrupting bisphenol-A (BPA).¹
That could all change soon, thanks to grassroots pressure from advocates like you. Lawmakers are close to passing a bill that would finally protect us from the worst industry abuses, but the chemical lobby is working harder than ever to weaken it.
